The World of Legend BenJuly 08 New Blog SiteApril 07 Can't passion & life be together? Em...There are thousand ways to define passion and life, so whether passion and life can be compatible or conplement each other is not definite. Here I am offering some of my views. In no way are these views final, complete and indisputable.
For me, passion, as appeared in my last entry, means the thing you feel worth doing for life. It is like life's calling. Personally for me, I have a passion in changing the world(in either the larger sense or smaller sense) in some way, notably through media/education enterprising. But then, passion is not to be taken lightly and I dare not say I will never deviate from that path.
We all know the typical type of life most people are living--the so called treadmill life, rat race...It is about filling the employment vacancies and get enough income to survive, or buy cars and houses. If don't have enough qualification or skills, good luck to you, you will most likely be busy all the time, earning the minimum sum that keeps you alive. The thought of passion is out of question here.
Many people have other kind of personal passion in music, painting, travelling etc etc. They are primarily concerned with the way "I" live. Others may be concerned with bringing happiness, convenience, help to other people(essentially anything beyond personal pleasure). I would not say that the first is individualistic and the second somehow altruistic. And indeed both are ethically acceptable and justifiable. But if you have the second kind of passion, then probably you will need to strike a balance between "the unconfined passion" and "the confined life".
But when "love" comes into the picture, everything changes again:) We end up living for someone, not something or oneself. I have not fallen in love and you probably know better than I do.
April 03 some stupid questionsWhy are most songs about love?
Why do so many of us enjoy love songs when in fact the romantic lyrics has nothing to do with our lives?
Why does everyone appear like a philosopher in their blog? People seem more cool online than offline... In that sense, blog is a good thing, haha.
Why are some people never heard despite their relentless advocation of their cause while others are heard everyday all over the world, even when they burp.
If you need x number of people to change a light bulb, how many people do you need to change the world?
Democracy assumes that majority is to be followed but what if the majority is blur?....or what if the majority mindset is controlled by the minority? Who is to follow who, then?
What is passion? ---it is what you choose to do when you already have all the money you need.
What is life? --it is what you are doing right now when you don't have all the money you need yet:)
